If you read the history of the farm, you read that last line about Patrick never planning to have or work on a farm again. It is okay, you can laugh along with me. Let me formally introduce myself, my name is Katelyn. I am the girl that came into his life and put the farmer back into him, calluses and all.
If you ask him, he may give you a different story, but this journey started out because HE sent me a video of an 8 week old piglet being scratched on the belly with a fork. I did some research and before he knew it, we were headed to Fayetteville to pick up not 1, but 2 pigs!
Jackson, our oldest son, asked for a goat for his birthday. Of course I was secretly, or not so secretly, rooting for this. We couldn't just get 1, so just like that we were a family of 4 with 2 pigs and 2 goats. Within a year it snowballed in to us currently having 6 pigs, 5 goats, 2 mini donkeys, 2 mini cows, 2 mini horses, 6 chickens, 2 rabbits, a duck, a dog, a barn cat, and a hedgehog. Somewhere in that mini snowball we decided to name the farm The Pint Sized Pasture.
Not only do we live on the land that started out as Patrick's great-great grandparents, but we live in the house that his great grandfather built. We enjoy carrying on the family torch and teaching our kids, Jackson, Kaleb, and Asher, all about the farm life.
We never thought the dirt path we took a year ago would lead us here, but our animals bring us so much joy, we wanted to share it with our community.
